Ilo Orleans Film Director Bio
Ilo Orleans began his film making career as many fine directors do - as an actor. His first short film as writer, producer and director, CLICK, screened at over one hundred film festivals world-wide, received the prestigious audience award for Best International Short Film at the Brazil Mix Film Festival and is distributed by the Canadian Filmmakers Distribution Center.
Orleans served as contract Media Producer for The National Science Foundation, The Desert Research Institute and Storm Peak Laboratories, producing and directing short films ranging from the Science of Snowflakes to Minorities in Science. He has interviewed over ninety brilliant scientists, including multiple Nobel Prize winners, for the feature documentary film ASCENT, currently screening with Culture Unplugged Festival.
At HBO's U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen and again filmed for Comedy Central, Orleans produced MY BUDDY BILL, with RickMill Productions, for Emmy award-winning writer, Rick Cleveland (The West Wing, Six Feet Under, House of Cards), about Rick's incredible friendship with President Bill Clinton.
Orleans directed and produced the award-winning short film, DEARLY DEPARTED, starring Gigi Bermingham and Josh Clark, written by Marjory Kaptanoglu and edited by Academy Award winner, Jay Boekelheide. DEARLY DEPARTED premiered at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
As a director-for-hire, Orleans helmed the feature film CAPITAL GAMES, released by Breaking Glass Pictures.
Orleans has produced and directed innumerable marketing videos for a wide array of clients, having served as Senior Director | Producer for Ripplemakers, Inc., primarily directing for Google. He currently directs and produces through ad hoc productions and serves as a contract director for Friday's Films.
